I read the article on the warranties but didn't really understand if a Cold Air Intake system will void a warranty or not? Can any help me out on this?

 

Does a cold air intake oid the warranty?

 

They did not void my warranty (they were the one's who put the synthetic oil in my truck) but I did have to have my rings and pistons replaced at 50k miles....under extended warranty. I was leaking some oil from the crankcase ventilation tube. The explanation for this was that my rings never seated and my pistons were wobbling in the cylinder and letting some blowby past. I talked to a local diesel specialist who informed me that you should not use synthetic in the Cummins until at least 25,000 miles so that the rings may seat properly.

 

In regards to the intake...I talked to a few Dealers here in Houston and asked about the intake. I was told that the intake is not a problem. Now, this may be a dealer thing...as I was told the exhausts have no effect either. I'd seen a cut away muffler from a 6.7 and it's darn near straight through just like the "performance" mufflers. I replaced mine because I liked the look of dual exits.

In regards to performance chips and what not...TS has the MP-8 that is untraceable. I also used the Superchips flashpaq, and when the turbo failed, they did not trace the programmer after I removed it. However I did not put it back on only to fine that e second turbo still failed another 8K miles later. Yes, I went through 2 turbos in 16K miles. That was only with gauges on the truck. I still haven't found an intake I like yet.

 

what does title mean Anyway I am discussing my use of an Edge Juice on my truck with Chrysler. They replaced the transfer pump under warranty but say I have at least one bad injector. What are the chances they know what they are talking about and what are my remedies if I do not like what they say.

 

And, do you s'pose a Banks Brake constitutes a hi-perf addition?

 

Any phyical item ( air in take, mufler ) can't really viod a warenty, the coumputer will adjust timming, ex gas, ect, once you start playing with chips and messing arround with the coumputer tunning, than you have modified the truck and you don't have A dodge programed lt truck, you have a edge, super chips, bully dog programed truck.

Why would you carry a a warenty on a product you built and sold when some one can come along and change it, and expect you to honnor the warrenty.

 

I got my truck on Nov 19th 02 and It came from the factory with 15-40 oil in it . Less than a week later it was 38 degrees below zero and I dropped the oil and put in 0-40 Esso full synthetic and I now have 230,000kms or 143,000 miles and the synthetic went in a at less than a thousand miles and this truck has towed a 10,000lbs. trailer for half of those miles. I have been told that it would not break in properly but it has lots of power, it does not use oil, it is not hard on fuel and so I don't care if it is not broken in properly. If your pistons were wobbling in the holes how could synthetic oil have caused that.

I had my '07 3500 at the dealer for a recall and in the waiting area is the Parts counter and I was surprised to see that they were selling the "Juice with Attitude" programmers. If they are supposed to be checking for these things, should they be promoting their use?

 

Where ever you buy your dodge from, is not owned by chrysler, chrysler owns the right to build, market and warenty product built to chrysler specs, the dealer is a independant who has to meet chrysler critia to honnor chrysler warenty, A owner can sell new dodges, fords and GMS under the same roof, chrysler has no intrest in paying for a independant dodge dealers modifications in the event thiers a issue with a non chrysler, dodge part.

IN the event chrysler says no to to a aftermarket part bought a dodge dealer, its the dodge dealer who charges you to remove the part they sold you that voided the warranty, unless thiers a mopar stamp on a product, don't play with it untill your warrenty is up...

Warranty is a fight for a specfied period of time....
