Default Stake Bed Conversion Help Need ASAP

We are taking the retired LWB bed off our 2005 3/4 and putting a stake bed on it. The problem is the "Lamp Out" light in the dash. There is a wiring harness at the rear of the truck, that used to split off to go to the factory tail lights. Does anyone know how to close this circuitso the computer sees it as operational? We can not use the oldfactory lights with this bed. We have working lights that came on the Stake Bed.I know these type of caps or plugs used to be referred to as a "terminator"plug. Local Stealerships no help so far. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello Mayfair,

We are using a stake bed off our 97 that got totalled. These beds have built in lights, and you just wire them in. We don't cut the plugs off, so that when we retire them at 400k miles we can put the bed on them and resale them.

Can't you just cut and splice? All that I can think of that you have back there are stop, turn, running, tag, and back-up lights. Can't youcut a foot back or so and just splice the new wires to the old?

We have tied into them already. The computer sees the two plugs with no connections, and throws the "Lamp Out" code. Or, that is to the best of our knowedge so far. They are out there tracking-n-tracing wiring as I hunt for the answers. Dealer's are leaning towards some sort of flash on the computer to trick it into thinking the lights are there. I am waiting for "The Guy" who supposedly knows to get out of a meeting.

Don't the newer trucks have left brakeandleft turn signalthe same; also right brake and right turn the same. The older vehicles had both sides brakes the same and separate turn signals.
