I would ask to see a maint history and a repair history for the truck/s. If the truck has been properly maintained and appears to be in good shape you are probably going to be happy. Happy hunting.

Check for mods on the truck. While not necessarilly bad, it'll give you an idea of how it was used.

1 - Look for sticky tape on the fuse box under the hood or on the side of the battery. This would indicate a box was installed.

2 - Have them check the key counter with the ScanTool. Any irregularities there might indicate a programmer was installed.

3 - Check the exhaust manifold for drill holes that may have a plug in it. That would be an EGT probe.

Other than that, as mentioned about, get the maint / repair recs.

An 05 or 06 is a good choice.

I see you're in MI, but I'd make sure they aren't "Katrina" trucks as there's quite a few of them floating around. Carfax might help. Just my.02,Good luck with your purchase.

I've had my 05 since January and I'm in love with it. Aside from what's been mentioned, I'd say pull that trigger!
