Correct, 60% on the front. That translates to 8-10% on the tongue. It's like a breaker bar in reverse. If you had to support the weight at the front of the load it would be the delta weight, 20%. But since there is 3-4 feet of trailer/tongue it reduces the load, like a prybar.

the tongue weight on my class IV is 500 pounds. Its hard to "properly" distribute weight on a trailer when you're only loading one object.

Az I know I'm passing on the vehicle transport because of timing, but you should look at getting a quote. Sure beats diesel there and back.

I have already looked into that. The cheapest I could find was 850 bucks. I am going on vacation to Minnesota and taking the truck cause I am gonna be pulling a boat. My buddy got 17 MPG with my truck and trailer empty on the way down to San Antonio. The price of diesel went down 4 cents here today. It was $4.09, now it is $4.05 at Exxon.

Az, I think I would go with the Rapid Hitch, its made of aluminum alloy and is rated at a Class V receiver. I have one and love it, it takes seconds to adjust and makes it easy to hook up to any trailer you want knowing its level. Here is the website. www.rapidhitch.com

I saw that, I like it, but the one I found from Cabelas is a shock absorber, so I wouldnt feel the trailer back there. I will consider it.
