"Big stupid fart pipe," "all that yo diggity crap,"...... that cracks me up .....see a lot of that around here also, when one of these characters try and dick with meI just try to remember what my old granny told me, " a smile is a gift which is free to the giver and precious to the recipeint. But giving the finger is free, too, and I find it more personal and sincere." Plus, I'm thinkin, a ground fog of black smoke probably doesmake a pretty good point also.........wish I could of been there to see that.

The BEST thing I've EVER seen was when I was pulling onto Ft Benning. This kid and his buddy and 2 little hoochie mama girl friends in a Civic are next to me. The kid tries to go over the speed bump at the gate.....scrapes the front bump......scrapes the bottom of the side skirts......and this is the best part......rips the back bumper cover right off the car.
I lost my friggin mind. I had my windows open and just absolutely lost it laughing. His buddy is rollin', the corner queens in the back were rollin'. Even the guards were laughing. This kid had to feel like a complete 'tard.
Okay, you gotta tell me the truth, is there such a place as Swollen Beaver, Ore. I mean a town, not an item in the house.....I've lived in Oregon most of my life, (long time) and I've never heard of a place with that name.
Think about it......
It's actually a very funny story.
When I was a Drill Sergeant, on graduation day when you marched the privates by the reviewing stand they would announce your platoon and they would announce your name and where you were from.
We had this thing where we always made up where we came from. Sometimes it was Osaka, Japan or East Compton, CA or whatever. It was always something other than where you were really from.
Now, the announcer was always a civilian dude that just showed on grad day and read from the script. So a buddy of mine was the one that put the script together and I had him put Swollen Beaver, Oregon.
Well, the announcer is going through the stuff, I march my platoon by, he calls off, "Drill Sergeant such and such......from Swollen Beaver, Oregon......"
You could hear the crowd laughing.
Yeah, I kinda got my butt chewed, but IT WAS WORTH EVERY FRIGGIN BIT OF IT.
So now it's one of myrunning jokes.
I'm actually from Upstate NY originally.

Just got my conceal carry permit a couple of weeks back, well, still waiting on the state to process it and mail it to me anyways. Bought a Taurus PT1911 a few weeks back done been thru about 500 rpounds with no problems shoots good, hell, I may just carry that

The one thing with 1911's is that they are VERY picky about ammo, especially if you are using a traditional, non-ramped barrel. They tend to not like HP ammo if the mouth is too large. I have had good luck with Remington Golden Sabres, because of the more rounded profile of the bullet and also Corbon Pow'rball. They only thing I don't liek about the Pow'rball is that it's +P and 1911's take a beatingw/ +P ammo. You really need to install shock buffs or a stiffer recoil spring (22lb isstock in the commander model).
I had few feed issues for the first 100 rds, but after that it was good to go. I'll still be carrying my XD40SC or my Taurus PT111 Mil Pro. Have never had a single FTF or FTE with them and they eat up anything.
This is the first 6 mags I ran through it.

i am saving my pennies for the Kimber Ultra covert II.

Whenever you carry concealed, the hardest thing to hide is the grip. You could hide a 9" long barrel, but the grip is what prints.
The best thing I did to my XD40SC and my PT111 was add the Pearce grip extensions. It basically replaces the floor plate on the magazine and adds a contoured pinky extension so that you can actually get a full grip.
The other thing I like about the Kimber Tac Pro II line is that they already come with some pretty trick stuff right from Kimber's custom shop. The really nice part is the mag well that is already fit to the mainspring housing. A standard 1911 has a TINY mag opening and reloads take a bit of concentration. With the mag well, it gives you twice the opening.
Check out the Tac Pro line before you get your mind set on that covert. They covert is cool looking, but it doesn't have all the features of the Tac Pro line and it costs more. Just food for thought.
One thing I do recommend, if you are going to CARRY a 1911, is find one that has a ramped barrel and not the traditional barrel. They are MUCH more tolerant of different kinds of ammo. Traditional 1911's are PICKY and finding the ammo that works well in your particular gun gets expensive.
aah my bad, i ment the pro covert, not the ultra, i want the 4" barrel. i just love the digital camo pattern with the lasergrips standard. i was also looking at the raptor line. hell i might have to get one of each of them. the springfield XD line has some sweet guns also.
