Hate to hear that!

I just bought a Toyota commuter rat. 96 Toyota Corolla (36MPG). I guess I'll fit in here at DF, Right Mayfair!

My diesel has been parked unless I've been towing. At least all of my vehicles are paid for. If I were making payments on the 2500, I would probably get rid of too.

do the math... even at the higher price of diesel, (unless your mpg in your ram is damn close to the diesel), the diesel would still be cheeper... when I had the dak I was in that situation... 15 mpg in the dak was more expensive than the ram @ 17.5 mpg...

It would certainly be cheaper in my case. My hemi gets 11 city and 15 highway. My range on 26 gallons is a mere 280-300 miles in the city. With a diesel, I could easily double that range.

3500 miles, 15 mpg vs 18 diesel, $3.95/gal reg gas vs 4.45 diesel... savings of 56 bux over 3500 miles...

3500 15 3.95 233.3333 $ 921.67
18 4.45 194.4444 $ 865.28
$ 56.39

Saturday they are coming to take Diablo away.
Who is "they"

Sorry to hear about your loss Jimmy, but I'm also glad to hear that you're cool with it.

Cowboy - I still haven't pulled the trigger on a second car. That 1400 a year insurance bill killed the idea. If the gap between regular gas and diesel get's bigger though, I'll once again explore the option.

Donny, you should find something that is cheep in the form of a throw away car and just do liability ins on it... the J costs $425/year to insure, with the current commute, it's paid for already.

Hey Jimmy, sorry to see it come to this, but truely you're making the right decision in putting your marriage and family first. Trucks come and go, (Mayfair, don't get any ideas there!), and you'll be back in the saddle before ya know it.

The door is always open for ya.
