its a common complaint for al gens ... check for play in the wheel. Could be worn out or loose "steering shaft", a worn steering shaft will cause loose or wondering steering. Had same issues in my old 72 Jimmy found out it was worn out steering shaft, thank god I did spend a crap load of cash on a steering box, only to find I still had "slopy" steering.

Check out www.borgeson.com info and parts for steering shafts.

i have noticed that my truck has a lot of play in the steering as well. it even got a lot worse when i put my 37s back on after the winter. sometimes when i am in a parking lot my power steering will quit if i am backing out of a spot and that really sucks! any ideas?

Check your trac bar. That is usually the culprit.
