Fuel mileage report
Just got back from a 1700 mile trip from Ohio, thru PA, MD, VA, WV, and KY, back home to Ohio. I was towing my 24ft 5th wheel RV, estimated weight about 6000 lbs. Mostly interstate driving, with some rural roads to campgrounds, and a little running around, sight-seeing, without the RV connected. I kept my interstate speed at about 62-64 mph to help conserve fuel. My tow rig is an 04 (not 04 1/2) Ram 2500 CTD with the NV-5600 six speed manual.
My hand-calculated mileage was 14.8 mpg, the overhead showed 14.9, so not much discrepency there. The Cummins handled my smallish RV trailer like a dream. Stayed on Cruise Control in sixth gear, except for one grade in WV where I let the RPM's get a little low, so had to downshift to 5th. This was my first trip with this truck, my last one, a '97 5.9L gasser with auto trans, got about 10.5 mph for this same trip the previous year. I'm a happy camper.

RE: Fuel mileage report
Going to blueston lake on saturday, its off that exit. I use to pull that hill in a toyota SWB pulling a boat. I would have to get going about 100mph the last few hundred yards going down to make it up the hill. The truck was all over the road but if didnt I would crest that hill at about 30-35mph.
