long time to talk! (ot)
So Nicki, just curious, but did you check the MPG ratings of that Jeep?
2000 Jeep Wrangler 4WD
Manual 5-spd
4 Cylinders
2.5 Liters
Regular Gasoline
18 city / 20 Hwy
So it doesn't seem to get better mileage. I wonder what the real reason is? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gay+jeep
What is that in your hair btw

last week i decided to sell my bike and with that money i bought a 4 banger jeep in hopes of better fuel mileage than my truck so i can drive to and from work, plus i always wanted a jeep so well have to see how that goes savings wise. i know its not a hybrid and its got the aerodynamics of a brick but it sure of cool to drive

NickColetti- The way underpowered 4 banger jeep is horrible on gas mileage. My bro in Az has a 2005 4 banger wrangler, and he has never used the 6th gear. There isnt enough power to move it in 6th gear, even when the petal is to the floor. The mileage is horrible, especially at highway speeds because the engine is struggling so much. Which is the reason why the wrangler is only available with 1 engine.
I see yours has the 5 speed, so hopefully your 5th gear has a different final drive ratio.
You are gonna have to feather the sh*t out of that clutch to get up any hill.

i would of never thought the guy with the avatar sitting on his bike with his shirt off in a diesel forum would have jokes like that[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif] (all in good company)as far as the milege goes in the jeep....well i wish i knew! i got it last week and so far had it in the shop. it has an exhaust manifold leak, then i found out it had bad tie rods so all those where replaced along with the front brakes and roters and now i just got word that the alternator is not giving a charge one the engine heats up and some sensors are bad[:@] i got the jeep for a really good price so i had planned to fix a few things but the list is getting bigger and bigger as the days go on. the cool things about it is its got brand spankin new rims and 33" bfgoodrich a/t, a 3" body lift, a new real axle and a new engine w/ 20k on it. i know the tires wont help for mileage but as long as im above 15 i will be happy being that my truck is only delivering a whopping 12.5 at $4.60 a gallon. just from driving that jeep i have already noticed the power is at a minumim but im thinking alot of that has to do with coming from the trubo diesel
ill have to update the mileage on this thread once it gets out of the shop and i run a tank thru it.

12.5mpg! Yikes, I've got a 2006 CTD QC 4x4, only mods are S&B intake/ filter and Edge with Attitude running on mileage setting. Admittedly, I've been driving it very easy lately (coasting towards red lights, etc) due to the price of fuel, but just got an honest 18.5mpg around town (70% freeways). So far as my avatar, just goes to show all kinds like CTD
