Even with the tuner turned up my truck doesn't smoke much, however on my way to the lake the other day I slowed way down to go over a cattleguard, when I got back on it a little (I baby it with my boat hookedto it the trailer is really close to the ground)it let out a black cloud that made the boat and 2 cars behind it disappear. It did it one other time on theway home. Banks was set on 20 horse, does the soot lay out in the exhaust then get blown out, can't figure out what is going on. No codes thrown, temps all in line boost was fine.

RE: Black cloud
Wouldn't worry about it too much.

Just sounds like you goosed the throttle a bit and the turbo couldn't catch up.

The soot shouldn't "lay" in the exhaust pipe, although possible.

More than likely it was just a bit of turbo lag and the load of the boat that gave you a little "powder puff"

Sounds good to me. The only time I dust anything is when I am pullingthe boat and the only one who gets dusted is the boat.

Good question, I was wonderingin regards to our truck as well.

Can't get it to smoke to save my life.

i had the same thing for a while too but i found it helps if youdrive in tow/haul mode even when you are driving empty. This seems to make the tranny lug down a lot lower for it to downshift out of drive and overdrive. I'll have it sometimes where i can get it down to 1100-1200 RPM and then you feather in the throttle and you'll leave a good cloud.

With that '07..........

No programmer, no smoke.

They're designed not to smoke, at all.

Like Luongo said, if you drive it in T/H mode and you get to around 45-50, right where it hits 4th gear and locks the TC, then get into the throttle a bit but not enough to down shift........then you can get a little bit of a powder puff, but nothing real exciting.

Get ya a programmer or box and that changes quick.

RE: Black cloud

If you still have your Cat on it will stay in there when you baby it and then when you hit 3/4 to WOT is when there is enough pressure to push it out and you cover a car or two with a black cloud of smoke and soot.
