Default K&N air filters?

Need some help. I have a replacement drop in K&N air filter and am hearing they are terrible on our trucks. I have heard they will pit the engine out in a heart beat and dont have enough filtering capabilities for our trucks. Is this true, if so what air filter can i put in it thats not aftermarket but will flow good and filter(wix, napa, microguard, fram?) Thanks

If you want a drop in that flows good and filters good, get an Amsoil Nanofilter or an AFE drop in.

If you want cheap but good and long life... Go with a BHAF...

Here is my write up on it...

I'm up to 60K miles and the filter minder still hasn't move yet...Never got to clean it, never got to oil it and it a good filter. If you put a outwears on it... It should last nearly 100K miles without a problem...

You can buy these filters at Vulcan Performance for $39 bucks...

I am running a K&N drop in with my 6.7 and I havent had any problems. I have put about 12,000 miles on it and love it.
