Default Changing the short box to a long Box

Since you guys are the Gurus of Dodge users Here is what I'm going to do: I found a shop that can change my 2007 Mega cab into a long box and my local dealer will honor the warranty. My reason for going to the long box is towing. Even with the manual slider hitch the house I'm towing swings to close to the cab. the copilot and I never had that problem with the long box plus we lost a lot of space for hauling. we feel the added 18" will give us the piece of mind when towing. the truck is fantastic as a tow vehicle getting the same mpgs as the 5.9 ctd towing ,in town it bites, and the EB really works like a charm down steep grades. So do you think I'm stepping onmy oscar myergoing this route?
thanks
