Default Is it the Starter?

My 06 will start like it did brand new when it is cold, BUT when shes hot the starter will barely engage and after a few trys it wont do a thing until it cools down. I already did the simple things like testing the batteries and looking for loose connections. Any ideas b4 I leave it with the stealer[:@]. She only has 13k so I reckon it will be covered by the warranty. I thought it was just loose cables a few weeks ago but I reckon I was wrong. It is getting hard to idle out $4.70 fuel cause the dang thing wont restart hot[:@]

I'm at a loss. . .but I will ask the starter guru at the shop tomorrow if he is there.

all he does is rebuild starters and altenators.

Well boy's it turns out that the starter is bad. I did the ole redneck hammer tapping trick while the boy was holding the key in the ON position and WALLA!! .The pos will still crank perfect cold BUT after she gets hot its time for the tapper.I found out this morning after I had to pull the truck 27ft gooseneck that was grossly overloaded by the way with the 5103 JD and a logging chain. It is quite impressive what a little tractor can tote. Anyways Nickbeek pulled somestrings over at the stealership and maybe got me pushed to the front of the line. You otta heard him giving the service manager the sob story. I could almost hear the poor guy crying over Nicks cell phone. Way to GO NICK

Just keep your fingers crossed that the parts truck gets the starter there tomorrow and you'll be crusin in style again. I'm sure Parts/Service will agree that it pays to build a relationship with your dealers service dept.
