Default Unusual issue

I own a 2006 2500 megacab cd. The other day I was on the interstate pluggin about 65 with c/c set. I took it out of c/c and tapped the brakes. You could feel the engine dropping out of gear as if a hard downshift, and then it just died while rolling. I had to shift it down into nutral to get it started again. (all while rolling). I've never heard or seen anything like this happening. The check engine light never came on, neither did any of the other indicator lights (fuel, water in fuel.. etc).. Has anyone else had this problem? Or heard of it? Thanks in advance,
Chris

Did it toss any codes?

Do the key on, key off 3 times and see what comes up on the odometer screen.

Don't start the engine, just go to run and back to off 3 times within 10 seconds and it should display a code if any were thrown.

Otherwise, I've never heard of that one.

Did you take it out of c/c by tapping the brakes, or did you turn it off with the button and then tap the brakes?

I have a problem along the same lines as yours. When my speed goes below forty MPH, the truck goes to coasting with no engine braking at all. The first time this happened I nearly rear ended the car in front of me. It tool longer to stop then I have been used to. I had been having a problem with very hard down shifting also. Mileage is 3600.

I took in to the dealer and the firsttime they checked it theysaid could not find anything wrong. We went round and round and then I took the service manager for a ride. In less than a mile he said turn around I see what you are talking about.

I now have a new Tranny on its way from the factory. At this time it is lost in shipment. They will order another if not found next week. This may not help you but wanted to pass the info on.
