Here's my first question....
Do you already have gauges?
Before you do anything, you NEED to have gauges.
This isn't JUST to make sure that you don't damage anything, you can also get better mileage by driving by the gauges.
DO NOT do the power mods unless you have gauges first.
If you don't have gauges and want one complete package and want to keep you stuff safe and still be able to play on occassion, then get an Edge Juice w/ Attitude. It has all the gauges built in and it is capable of making more power than your tranny can handle, TRUST ME.
An edge box is as safe or dangerous as YOU decide to make it.

Edge? I have seen some that do and some that dont. Smoke is cool looking but also wasting $5/gallon fuel. Most of us dont even suggest products that produce black smoke. But if thats what your after, then go with PPE. If money is no object, go with Banks.
But from the way the conversation is going, I think a Smarty would be your best bet. The SR not the JR.

It certainly can if you crank it up.
It won't shut down the highway, but you can definitely get rid of unwanted tailgaters.
You can adjust the power output and the low boost fueling (i.e. smoke output) in each of the individual power levels.
You can set level 1 (mileage) for no smoke (1-1) or more smoke (1-5). Level 1 won't make much, but you'll definitely notice better throttle response and you can get rid of the annoying turbo surge.
Now, level 5-5 will smoke pretty good, but is much more than your stock tranny can handle. ONLY play with that a bit if you are alrady up around highways speeds and just need to "clear a few mosquitos".
You can also purchase the HOT unlock code which gives you a level 6. This one smokes REAL nice. But again, you'll kill your stock tranny.
Here's the thing.....Smoke is wasted HP. Smoke in the air, is HP in the air. It's unburned fuel. It's fun, but excess smoke just means wasted power.

Okay, this video is my truck with the Edge module stacked a Smarty programmer.
The Edge doesn't make this much smoke alone, until you get up in the higher 5 levels (5-4 or 5-5) and level 6 will do just about this.
This was the Edge on 4 (of 6) and the Smarty on 6 (of 9). Neither of them are turned all the way up and I'm doing about 50 - 60 MPH with a 20 - 25 MPH cross wind.
About 1 minute in is where I start getting on it a bit.
