Default good mpg

17.32 mpg, all city driving. And yes, hand calculated andtripple checked because I couldn't believe it. I did two things differently when driving. One. Accelerating super slowly, not going over 1500 rpm's. in eachgear. (I know, very boring). And two. Putting it in neutural when sitting at stop light's, or stuck in traffic.

I don't know if the driving style changed helped that much, or I got some super duper extra highenergy contentdiesle, or maybe both? My usual mpg city is right at 15mpg. This is in a 07 quad, short, 5.9, 4x4, auto. Bone stock 7000 miles

Just thought i'd share

always under 1500rpm?

my engine seem to work harder under 1500 than over

1800 is the sweet spot for me.. plenty of power on tap, turbo spooled but not much psi present, low egt and best mpg i saw

I've been doing a bit of the same...

Dropping it in neutral at the lights......avoiding accelerating on hills......going easy on the smoke pedal......keeping my speeds limited to to no more than 5 over.

But, I've also been doing a bit of programming tweaks. This tank is looking rather promising.....we shall see.

While the overhead lie-o-meter is not very truthful, it also has never been this high.

We'll see when the hand calc is done.

I'm in the same camp. I hardly drive(250 mi in 2 months, 90%city) but I accelerate slowly, avoid stops etc. and my overhead hasn't dropped below 20 yet. I probably won't fill up for a while so I won't know actual till then.

My overhead is up around 23.2 right now.

I'm at 372 miles on this tank and JUST under 1/2.

I was still getting a bit of hazing at low throttle, but I turned the TQ management back on a bit to ease up on the low boost fueling and now the haze is gone. As soon as I did that, the overhead went up from 22.8 to 23.2 over a 14 mile stretch.

We'll see. I let ya know the results of my little programming experiment.

Man, you already know what you need to do.....

Ditch the DPF, block the EGR and get an Edge.

I would think that it would almost pay for itself.

Only other issue is the umpteen injection cycles that the 6.7 has. What is it, 5?

Good to hear. I've been trying to drive differently as well. Hopefully it will pay off. I've been getting about 14 mpg city and 16 mpg highway.

Im driving alot more conservative, but im not seeing that much of an increase in mileage take in for granted im doing mostly highway mileage. I may see a max 2 mpg better economy which is about 67 miles difference and $9-10 a fill up? Im just gonna say forget about driving conservative- its not saving me that much money. Besides its 66 miles round trip to work- I gain an extra day driving.
