Default P2262 Club

Well, like many others on here, my CEL has come on for the P2262 code. The first time it came on I made an appointment with the local Dodge Dealer and what do you know that CEL went out right before my appointment. So it comes on again about a month later and of course, I made another appointment for the soonest they could schedule me. Well what do you know, the light went out but thankfully came on again and stayed on until my appointment. In case your wondering, I have the 08' 6.7L. So the dealer says they have been having issues with this and they have already replaced a few turbos and cleaned a few as well. So they tell me that they had to order a bunch of parts, so I explained to them about all I have read and know about the issue. I told them I don't want a bandaide for something that is going to come on again in another month. I have 7300 miles on the truck at of the time of drop off. Oh yeah, I had a tie rod that comes off the pitman arm go bad already as well, the boot tore on it.

So the guy says that they are going to clean out the soot and had to order the following parts:
1. Sensor OX 8037 (2) CH5149063-AA
2.Gasket EG 1406 CH68038089-AA
3. Gasket EG 1406 CH68005184-AA
4. Gasket IN 1406 CH68024672-AA
5. Plug Pipe 9003 CH68050416-AA
6. Plug Exhaust 1408 CH5019845-AA

If anyone out there knows if this is a standard order to fixing this issue I would like to know. It seems to me that they are going to try this and hope that my light doesn't come on again. The service writer mentioned that you can't let these engines idle like you could the old one because of the new smog equipment and that you had to drive them HARD in order to burn off the soot.

Anyway, we'll see what happens, I love my truck and this is hopefully just a temporary thing for us and with a little luck Dodge will come up with a permanant fix in the near future (got to have HOPE).

Now the more I read about this the more I find that Dodge Dealers are supposed to check if the turbo is the older model and replace it with the newest model and ECM. I have also read that if they try to tell you they need to tap into the turbo to run the cleaning fluid through that this is wrong, that they are supposed to replace the turbo and ECM. Any input from someone that works at Dodge would be great.

Thanks,
Johnny

They are changing out your oxygen sensor with seems to help a lot in most cases.

But yes, do not idle the 6.7 for more then 5 minutes at a time. It builds up excessive soot in the particulate filter, and yes you should take the truck for a good hard run on the highway once every week or so.

At least you don't have a modified exhaust, otherwise they'd blame that!!!!! good luck!

Thanks all. Yeah, the dealer was really cool about it and knows all about the issue, they told me that Dodge was paying for rental cars no matter what so this is something that they know about. Hopefully the cleaning of it and replacing the O2's will cure it for the meantime. I told my service writer I should just take off all the DPF stuff and he said, jokingly, "that's a good idea". haha! We both knew he was saying that as a friend and not as a representative of Dodge. This is my 2nd Dodge from this dealer and they do know me pretty good so hopefully they'll give me word straight up and not suger coated.

Anyway, no exhaust and nothing aftermarket except the lift so that's a good thing. I wish I could push myself to get the entire system taken off and go with a nice turbo back. I'm sure doing that would allow no more soot to build up, haha!
