Default flushing coolant on an02

was wondering ?how the best was to flush the cooling system on an 02 ctd,it is the original coolant, truck has 64k. Someone told me there was block drain plug,but i couldnt find it,an if you had to use distilled water instead of well water? thanks rick

You want to use distilled in your cooling system, most anti-freeze comes pre-diluted now, no mixing. Make sure you use what is recommended in your owners manual. As for the drain, I have not had to do that yet so I cant help. I used to pull the thermostat and unhook the upper hose on my old chevy.

there should be a driain plug on the bottom of the radiator...drain it there 1st then yank the lower hose. not sure if there is a block drain plug or not, check the manual.
