Default Where should EGT's be???

I just bought an 07 Dodge with the 6.7L Cummins, I had the Edge Juice with Attitude installed on it Monday. My EGT's are running much higher than a friend of mine's truck which has the 5.9L. My truck is running up to 1050 sometimes on flat ground (not during regen), and up to 1200 pulling any kind of grade. This is normal driving with the Edge set on level 0 or 1. My question is, what should the EGT's be for my truck on level ground and what should they be pulling a hill? One more question, at what temp do they start to pose even the slightest danger to my truck? Please help.

I think the Edge defuels at 1350 unless you change it but I wouldn't let them stay over 1200 for very long. JMHO Search for EGT's and you'll get alot of info.

The 6.7 does run hotter than the 5.9. It has 5 injection cycles, EGR valve, restictive exhaust etc.

Just for reference, on flat level ground, highway speed, unloaded, I run between 550 - 650*, climbing a grade 700 - 800*.

You don't have to worry up to around 1250*. You can run that ALL DAY LONG and have zero issues. 1350 about the safe limit for short burst, but don't drive there for sustained periods or else you start to melt the edges of the exhaust valves and the tips of the turbine fins.

Any ideas what could be causing mine to run hotter than normal? This morning coming to work it was running over 1000 with the box set on level 1, I was on nearly level ground and running about 60 mph. It was very normal driving, no hot rodding at all.

Things that will make it run hot are 1 - dirty airfilter, 2 - clogged DPF, 3 - the exhaust brake sticking shut, 4 - the egr staying open, 5 - stuck injector, or 6 - (most likely) it's in regen mode.

Is it thowing any codes?

It's not showing any codes and the Edge Monitor says that the Regen is off. It sounds an alarm when it is in regen and the monitor shows "ON" while it is doing it. The check engine light did come on before I put the Edge in it, I took it to an auto parts store and it read a P2000 code. We cleared it and it hasn't came back on since.
