If you have the time
1. NFL Football HOF in Canton, OH, not to far south ofCleveland
2. Rock N Roll HOF, in downtown Cleveland next to Browns stadium.
3. Cedar Point amusement park. Best coaster park in the world. Sandusky, OH. That will take a day though.
By the way, I assume you are taking 80/90 thru Ohio. As tempting as the map may seem do not jump on 24 in the Toledo area. Keep going along 80/90 10 miles into IN then take 69S. 24, which cuts on a diagonal into Ft. Wayne, IN looks faster but that road is an issue as most of it is single lane and you WILL get stuck behind traffic and hit a few small towns/lights.
There is Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, Ohio that was used during the war of 1812. I been there a couple times when I was younger, but it was not my thing. As for other types of places like that I would not know, but I would think there would be some along the lake shore somewhere.

Woli, if you want some good food while you're in town, head downtown and go to the Weber Grill Restaurant. A little pricey, but not too expensive and very good food.
It's been a while since I've been to the track, but if memory serves those seats should be right across from the pits.

Sounds like those seats are just a little south of mine (for the 500), watching the pit action is great plus there should be a jumbo-tron on top of the seats across the track, shows ya' the TV feed, best of both worlds. If you go to downtown Indianapolis in the center of the city there is a large Civil War memorial that is very cool to visit, I haven't looked into touring battlegrounds and such around there, but I'm sure there is something.
Waddaya know, a little google searching pays off. http://www.in.gov/iwm/
Also, if you're interested in racing history at all the museum at the track is a must! Only $5 to get in and there is a TON of Indy and racinghistory in there.

Woli, I have a friend that lives about 3 blocks from the track and he has pay parking in his yard for the race. I don't know if you already have parking arrangements or not, but if you want more info let me know.
