Default Fan Clutch on 2003 CTD

I have a 2003 CTD that the wire came loose from the shroud and caught on the fan, cutting the wire. I hope that if I repair the wire, it will still work. Really don't have $395 to put out for a new fan clutch.

Need to know how to get the clutch out so a can repair the wire.

Can anyone help me?

Does the fan still spin relatively freely, with a little resistence? I seem to remember reading that when they go bad they lock up and pull the wires out. Not 100% on this but you may want to do some searching.

What you'll probably need to do is knock the clutch off of the pulley, which is really easy to do if you have an air hammer and adapters for fan clutches. If you don't have that you'll need a good sized wrench (36mm IIRC) and a hammer and probably someone to pull the belt tight to keep the pulley from turning. Once you get that off the clutch should just be bolted to the fan.
