Default 2008 6.7L?

I was going to wait for the baby cummins to come out. Now with the incentives, it makes sense to pull the trigger on an '08 or '09. I have been reading major problems with egr and dpf. If I would delete both, would it be against the law? I live in Louisiana and wondering if they would check for that? It seems to me if I take both the egr and dpf off, the 6.7 will run like a diesel should. Any help is appreciated!

If your planning on deleting the EGR and DPF which ends your warranty and risks failing inspection, why not just buy a used 5.9? The baby Cummins will no doubt have an EGR and DPF as well.

i don't know about other states, but here in connecticut if your truck is over 10,000 lbs GVWR you are lifetime exempt from emissions. the 3500 SRW is 10,100lbs GVWR. so once my warranty is up that crap is coming out.

With the issues the 6.7 is having, ecspecially MPG that sucksI would go with a late model 5.9L. I couldn't be happier with mine. And I actually did look into getting a 6.7L, would have even got a great deal....but I wanted a proven engine, not one that needs proving.
