Has anyone used their used motor oil mixed with diesel as fuel? If so how did it work?

From what I know about it.... you wouldn't want to do that in a CR. A 12v on the other hand can run it all day long. I know someone that owns a diesel shop that runs it and used tranny fluid in his 12v. As long as it's very clean he says it will run forever on it. CR's would have trouble clogging filters all the time. It wouldn't hurt to run a few quart of oil with a full tank every once in a while. I've done that several times. it helps keep things nice and lubed.

i have heard of this before. i know triton has said that he has done it a few times but most don't because of the small metal particals that will be in the oil. i have used new motor oil mixed with my fuel before because it was free and i am currently mixing 1 oz of 2 stroke oil for every gallon of fuel in my truck. i can't say that i have seen an increase in mileage but it is some piece of mind knowing that my fuel system is better lubricated since diesel doesn't have that much sulfur in it anymore and the vp44 pumps get destroyed easily without lubrication from the fuel (i just replaced mine and it wasn't cheap[:@]). Personally if your truck is a 98.5-02 with the vp injection pump i wouldn't do it. but thats just my opinion.

if you have a really good way to filter it good and get it back to being almost brand new maybe, but it wouldn't be worth it. I know of alot of shops that have heaters that they run off of their used engine oil which saves them a good bit of money as they dont have to pay for disposal or buying heating oil, but I don't think I'd do it in a truck. I know several guys at work that run ATF trough their trucks alot, bust those are also 7.3 and 6.0 Powerstrokes, so can't really say if that'd work on a Cummins.
