Default 2002 diesel with acceleration problem

i have a manual trans and it usually accelerates fine throught the gears but when you get up to highway speed and level off and then ask for more fuel its like somebody cut the accelerator cable. you can hold it to the floor and all of a sudden the engine responds and will set you back in the seat. after you get leveled of it will do it again and again again. it sounds electronic to me but i am starting to wonder about the turbo. i have replaced the fuel filter twice in the last month and they looked fine. mileage is 65,000. never fails to start.

Its your injector pump. I had the same thing happen to me with my auto tranny on my 2002 2500. Since they are so high priced I just went ahead and spent the extra money and got a beefed up one. Check out my signature. Mine also when it was cold like really cold the truck wouldnt even move at all. It bugged the sh*t out of me. I thought it was my fuel filiter aswell. But def. its your inj. pump.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so, what's it reading?

mine did the same thing. Sometimes it would act up and other times it would drive normal. I not real sure what the problem is I just know that the pump is starting to go out. I have a fuel gauge on mine but right now I am Iraq but I get home in a week. So I can provide more info then.
