Default Import 2007 5.9l RAM into California

I intent to buy a 2007 3500 w/ 5.9l TD in Utah.

And Ilive in San Diego, CA -so I am wondering if the DMV here will give me a hard time, because of the stupid emission stuff here in CA?

Thanks…

dont know for sure, call the dmv and ask before spending any $. do make sure it has all of the emissions equipment (cat) installed prior to going there for their inspection.

If the vehicle was registered in Salt Lake, Davis, or Utah counties, it is emission tested so I'd think you should be okay. My county doesn't require emission testing. Don't know if that helps or not.

You should check however, they don't make special trucks just for Kalifornia any new truck should pass emissions.[sm=happybounce.gif]

if you buy it new, then want to register it in Ca it has to have 7500 miles on it before it is brought into the state (or registered), a friend of mine bought a vw tdi jetta in vegas then drove it home, paid an old roomate of mine to let him register it at his house for a year then transferred it to CA with no issues. The state can't let anyone NOT register a car in the state if it is considered 'used' ie: 7500 miles on it.
LMK if you need an address to register it to. I think he paid my buddy $150.00 to send him all of the dmv paperwork and stuff.
