Default Injector pump diffrences?

O.K. you 3rd Gen guys, I have a brain teaser for you. I went and looked at three diferent 05 quads yesterday, two were short boxes and one was a long box. The long box had the injector pump mounted on the head in the same place as my 99 and it even lookes identical to the vp44, the other two the pump was mounter on the side of the block down low, so my question is, does the long box, for some reason, possibly have a vp44 pump mounted on it? It is the only 05 I have seen with the pump mounted on the head. I have been told that 02 was the last year of the vp44 pump. Hopefully someone can tell me what I am looking at
Thanks
Troy

the difference you're seeing is likely in the model. There were HO ( high output ) and non HO trucks. Also, you may have been looking at a 2004.5 which I believe has several differences from the 2004 and 2005 models. 02 was the last of the VP as 03 is when they were changed to common rail fuel systems

all three trucks were soposed to be the HO, but this one in paticular was a HO 600. Could the others be the standard hp trucks and not the HO? Thats what I am beging to think.
thanks

Decided to pass on this one. Something about the truck said to stay away. Salesman didnt help when he laughed at my 99 I thought i was going to try to trade (give away)for $8,000. They wanted $26,000 for the truck and I WAS going to CASH the balance. It did only have 79,000 miles on her, which I thought a tad to high for the price. Will keep looking and probably try the wife's 01 Mustang convert for trade, going to be her truck anyway[:@]
