Hello everyone,

I have just joined the forum after being a long time lurker. After some extensive research and dogged hunting I purchased a used 2007 Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. Low miles and in great shape. Two days in and I couldn't be happier. This is my first diesel so any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome aboard and welcome to the club!

Buy quality fuel from a place that sells a lot of diesel. Keep your filters (air, fuel, and oil) changed regularly. I go by the short interval in my owners manual. Use the correct fluids for service. Go easy on a cold engine, and work it good and hard every once in a while (once up to temp). I also check my engine oil level each time I fill up with fuel. HAVE FUN!

Congrats on the CTD...Change the fuel filter every other oil change. Water in fuel is a evil thing....
