Default 6.7-2007 turbo carbon problem

Brother in law has 2500 platform with the 6.7-2007. Dash tbl indicator light comes on and he cannot shake it off. Takes into the Dodge dealer and after 6 hr of labour they clean his turbo of "carbon". This is after 17000Km(10600miles). The truck has lots of highway time and is not lugged or idled. Anybody out there experience this? Thanks

Im sure this is a stupid question but. Is the turbo carbon problem coverd by the warrenty? I dought it but might as well check! If not how much around did it cost. If it took then 6hours Im guessing $700 or more.
