Default K&N air fliter

I bought an 02 with a K&N drop in air fliter in it, and yesterday i had a "mopar mechanic" tell me i should chunk it and get a paper filter for it. he said they let too much junk through to the turbo. was he right? should i go back to the paper style or is there something better i should go with?

Once the CTD sucks the oil out of the K&N, it is useless.

Don't rule out an amsoil...worth checking out and consideration anyway. I agree, don't use the oiled style though.
