Anybody have this problem?

The other day I was driving my 2003 2500 cummins, and I shifted into 4-lo when I was done with the hill I was climbing I but it back into 2-hi, yet the 4x4 indicator light stayed on. When I put it in 4-hi it goes out, so it has reversed itself or something. Anyone have a solution?

 

I had the exact same thing happen it turned out to be the position sensor on the top of the T-case easy fix for 80 bucks
