2006 2500 ctd inst lights help

When I turn on the ignition switck the wait to start light never comes on. Should the light come on as a test or is this normal most other lights have lamp test Truck is new to me Thanks Randy

it won't come on until it's cold out. the newer trucks don't even flicker on when you turn the key. wait until it gets cold out then it'll light up
