Has anybody tried using this to take off tar from the roads?. Will it f*ck up the clear coat.?

It'll make it easier to get the tar off. And no, it won't hurt the clear. But I would say wash and wax it after you are done for that added safety. This is how I've done it. you may also try goo-gone or goof off.
