Default Car or truck?????

Okay so here is my situation... I just bought a 2008 chevy cobalt for gas reasons but recently moved about 5 miles away from where i work, so gas is no longer an issue. My neighbor is selling a 2003 dodge ram 2500 ctd 4x4 quad cab, with 77000 miles for around $14k. Now the question is driving to work that is only 5 miles away good for a diesel motor, and i live in wisconsin so we get mornings that can get as cold as -25. I dont really haul anything but really want a truck i guess. Any input would be great thanks!!

I personally wouldn't drive my truck 5 miles to work every day. There are people that do, maybe some of them will chime in.

My school is only about 1 mile from my house. What I do is leave about 10min early and leave it in 2nd to keep the rpms at about 2200. I drive the "long" way to school and by the time I get there it is all warmed up at 190*. With that cold of temps it will take a while untill your engine will warm up. I would say keep the car, but get the truck for the weekends or something.

and thats a damn good price! i bought my 04 with 62000 on it for $22000!
