im doing something with my 02...just dont know what yet.

i was told to hack the muffler off and run straight 4" pipe out. how loud would this be?

any suggestions on a good muffler for it? i dont really have the money for a full exhaust system, just looking for something that will sound good and give me a little more power.

 

Me too. Ordered a DNA muffler for my '05 this summer from Jeg's. After 2+ months on backorder and no idea when it would come in, I cancelled. So now I'm looking again. I think until I decide on a muffler I am going to replace the stocker with a straight pipe and see what happens. I was told it would not change the sound much, but would probably get a drone at highway speed.

 

if you have a 5.9 get a straight pipe. 3 or 4 inch muffler back will be loud as hell and will wake the neighbors but is still pretty sick. get the exhaust with a chip and you will wake everyone up lol.... another one of my trucks has the 3 inch straight to the 5 inch tip is loud as **** and sound's pretty good.

 

i dont want to be loud as all get out, as it is i dont think you can hear my exhaust, and all the sound is motor.

just looking for something with a little more rumble to it.

 

Lately I've been hearing stories about people going to a bigger exhaust and turbos burning out. Is this just a rumour? or is this true? Do we have to upgrade the turbo as well?
