I was at the stealership today and they gave me a loaner and it was a 2008 quad cab, short bed, 2500, Big Horn, Diesel. It has 16,000 miles on it and they told me they would sell it to me for $31,000 dollars. The truck looks new inside and out! Is this a good price??? Or should I try and talk them down? I have never owned a Diesel so I am not sure what they are going for these days! I know you can get a gas truck for next to nothing.
NADA doesn't come up with anything... compare it to what they are asking for new ones and knock a bit off from that for mileage and the depreciation of it having been driven off the lot already...
I can buy a new one with green sheet for 34000 with zero miles. And I assume it's 4x4 right? That price probably isn't bad for a nice used one, but with the truck market right now you're in the drivers seat when purchasing. You make the offers, all they can say is no and right now they probably won't.
I think you could easily get them down some more right now trucks aren't selling. I would shoot for 25,000-28,000. When I bought my 07 new the sticker was 42,000 and I bought it for 34,000.
