Default truck won't turn over

Please help! My truck will crank but not start. This well known diesel shop seems to be stumped. It will start w/ starter fluid. The mechanic said the fuel pump has 14 lbs of boost. any idea what the problems might be?

man, if they went through all the trouble testing the lift pump and not changing the fuel filter, i must say strike 1 against them.

I agree with f0x672, check the fuel filter. Also, try starting the truck with the banks 'off' or its lowest level, along with attempt to disconnect it entirely. Its not all that uncommon where some of the tuners have a wire or two disconnect or not make a full connection and cause the motor to malfunction.

fuel filter then spring for a AIR DOG or FASS, OR you could get a replacement lift pump and put a Fuel Pressure gauge on the truck to make sure its getting enough fuel

what year truck? VE or P 12V, VP24V, or CR24V?

Maybe the anti-theft ignition key? Just a guess. You could try the other key and hope for a miracle.

well, as for the year of the truck, he said he has a banks six gun. that puts him at 2003-2007.5 if I'm not mistaken. It has been a week and no response from this guy, he may have been on only as long as his truck didn't work...
