Default Can estimated MPG display be reprogrammed??

Installed a new Edge EZ tow programmer. Ever since my estimated MPG display on the roof has been going crazy. Reads as high as 27 at times. Today while traveling at 70mph it was reading 24.9 but after fueling up it calculated out to 17.5mpg. Can a person reprogram this?? Will taking off the battery cable zero this out and reprogram itself back to being more acurate?

Take it back to the dealer and have the BCM (Body Control Module) reflashed

its the way of the prgrammer they all mess up the overhead. no fix for it. the overhead never was accurate to begin with, taking it back to the dealer is only going give you grief, as they will figure out you are using a programmer and null any warranty you may have. if you want it to read "correctly" remove the programmer set truck to stock settings and the overhead will read closer to actual.
