Default DPF Delete

well i was bored and was looking around for performance parts for the 6.7.....

i found a DPF delete kit for around 800 bucks, come with pre-bent pipe, harness to keep the truck from shutting down, and its recomended to have the edge with attitude to keep the check engine light from poping up...

any takers? id love to try it. sure it would give it more of a rumble after adding exhaust system, free up some horses. and most likely some better gas milage which is my key importance

is this the first you've heard of dpf deletes?? a lot of us are running them. depending on what exact system and material it's made of, that may or may not be a good price. mpg goes way up (mine went up 4-5 mpg) after installing the dpf delete and egr/egr cooler deletes.

Hey guys, I have a 08 2500 quad cab long box. I just put a DPF delete kit on it. I love it. 4 inch turbo back. breaths better and more power. the only problem I am having is the pressure differential switch sim isnt working properly. It still regens when I am driving slower speeds for a long time. no problems with driving highway speeds. I have the Edge with Att. and the DPF kit are the only mods so far. which lets me know when its regen's and of course when it does regen she smokes crazy. any one have any advice on how to stop the truck from regen or sims available that work very well? anyone have any concerns with engine damage if it does regen without filters other than the exess of smoke?

You may try shutting it off during a regen to interrupt it. Other than the smoke there will be no adverse affects to your engine. The extra fuel is added during the exhaust stroke and does not cause the egts to rise that much at the exhaust port, it is supposed to react with the catalyst to increase exhaust pipe temp. Don't get me wrong, it is still wasting your fuel but not hurting your engine. I don't know of anything to prevent the regen without programming that will not cause a derate or check engine light. The sim must be working a bit because it IS trying to do the regen, it wouldn't try if it knows the cat is not there-so at least it is thinking that you have it still. The ecm has filter timers also, so it does a regen at set times not just when it sees a restriction. The differential pressure monitors the ash accumulation also. So when it gets restricted it sets the light to tell you or the tech when the dpf is full of ash and needs to be replaced. Maybe there is an update to your programmer to eliminate the particulate filter timers.

Default DGF regen

so is the problem of the truck going into regen a problem that many others are encountering? and it does do it in spurts where ill put a thousand miles on it and it doesnt do it once, then for about a day or two its always in regen and wont shut off.
