In most states you are fine as long as you do it after any smog equipment. You didn't say what year your truck is. If you have a cat you have to keep it. The only other possible issue would be noise pollution you might need to keep your muffler.

ya, the first thing i removed was my muffler, sounds like an old dozer now. i have an 06, 5.9 24v, Qcab,3/4 ton, heavy duty that wasnt cali approved, but got it registered because i bought it overseas, (military) i think thats what really helped me with that. but no smog junk (sensors and crap) plan on keeping the cat, (illegal if removed) i was thinking about the muffler, i have heard that stacks are loud as hell, and worse when towing. i just dont want to invest in the product if i will get hell for it and have to remove it anyways. question, how do you like your edge stuff?

thanx,

Im in cali, first thing I did was drop my cat and go str8 pipe. We dont have smog rules for diesels. Id go for the stacks, I have seen many trucks with them here in cali. I like the look of the 5" stacks. Blow some smoke!

Mine are loud, but not overly loud. They sound real good. They are more toned-down with the cat still in place, no drone at all. Just a healthy sounding Cummins! Wasnt bad at all last time I towed...
