Question Water Separator in 6.7?

Do any of you guys drain the water in your diesel filter on your 6.7 cd? According to the manual, it says every month. I replaced it 4 months ago and haven't even touched it! Is it really require to do it? Thanks!

I check mine every few months, but there never seems to be any water in it.

It is a good idea to try and drain the water. If you were get water in the engine and the water did any damage, Cummins does not have to cover the damage under warranty. Water in fuel is not a defect of the engine, but is a defect of the fuel. Better safe than sorry....

Thanks for all the info guys! I also heard that the water separator drains the water automatically. That once the sensor detects it, it will drain it by itself. But then again, what do I know. The owners manual says it should be checked every month or so.
