Question lamp out warning light

My father has a 2003 Ram 2500/Cummings .He pulls a 5th wheel trailer a lot with it & gets a "lamp out" warning light with the trailer lights plugged in.Not all the time but quite often. The dealers have been no help so far.He said it will go out some times & when hits rough road it comes back on.Any body ahd this one before?
Thanks for your reply,grahmpus

You need to replace the strpi on the back of the tail light that holds the bulbs in. Very common problem....

My 03 has had the same problem, come to find out after about a month of the dinging the brake light bulb element was broken but making contact except when I hit a bump or when the bulb got hot. Might try changing the bulbs. work for me twice.
