Hi all,

Was the 5.9 diesel available in 2008? I found a low mileage Ram3500 Quadcab from 2008 and the ad says its the 5.9 blue-tec

Im from Europe, so I dont really have a big choice of real trucks

My brother-in-law is the manager of a Dodge dealership, and he told me that the last Dodge Ram with a 5.9L Cummins rolled through the assembly line in December 2006. All of them since then use the 6.7L Cummins.

 

unless he did and engine swap but that would be blue-tec? Sounds likes he doesn't know what hes selling.

 

2007, you could get 5.9L or 6.7L. All 2008's are 6.7Ls

I went to check it out, and it turned out to be an ad error, its a 2008 6.7L Cummins.

 

the 6.7 cummins turbo diesel have more recalls than the 5.9 liters... if i were you, i would go for 5.9l and lot of people on this dodge forum would always go for 5.9l than the 6.7l..
