1996 47re rebuild questions
I don't have a diesel but my V10 uses the same trans. Before I swap the V10 into my 1/2 ram sport I want to get the trans rebuilt. The first motor will be nothing more then a cammed stocker with bolt ons(headers, cai, exhaust,)a tune and MAYBE a 150 shot of juice. Cam is just the MP cam, very mild and I doubt the motor will make more then 400hp/525ft lbs of tq on the motor. What are the areas in these trannys that I should address in the rebuild to try and eliminate failures?

For that power, nothing more than a TC, VB and "maybe" a billet input shaft.
Otherwise, you're fine at that power level.
Shouldn't need to get deep into it at all.
Hell, the diesel's are making that at stock power levels on the 48's and they are essentially the same transmission.

Hey that sounds promising. This trans had water ran through it when the cooler line ruptured in the tank. It sat for months full of water before I got it. I flushed it about 5 times with type f, then flushed some atf+4 through it a couples times and drove it fine for about 2 months back and forth to work. darn thing finally let loose on me last friday, but it made it home.
