my truck is honking every 10 or 20 minutes

 

it's a 2004 2500

 

I have 2004 1500 SLT Quad Cab and it started honking for no reason, unattended. The first time was the other morning at 3:00 am! We've been having a problem in the neighborhood with car break-ins and burglaries and it got me out of bed ready for a fight! It stopped after about 15 seconds, did it again at 5:00 am, and now, today it went off. I ran down, inserted the key and turned it to start ( but didn't turn over the engine) to shut it off, then ran back up here to search the forums for this problem. This sure is a great resource for these strange problems!

Sounds like the same problem the Diesel 2500's were having. I'm going to look into the horn pad issue and replace it. I'll post after I see the horn pad.
