Straight pipe
#3
advantages:
sounds great!
truck breaths better when CAI is installed
lots of fun in mall parking lots cruising around setting off car alarms
disavantages:
you might lose a little low end performance (I haven't noticed any loss myself)
Dangers:
none, other then cops pulling ya over for noise violations.

Great sound. Maybe a little better mileage if you can keep your foot out of it. No disadvantages (you aint gonna lose any power or down-low torque. Thats a myth. Also dont believe the "you need backpressure" BS either. Its turbocharged.)
ALL Dodge/Cummins should come straight piped from the factory. Its un-American to not have a straight piped Cummins

if your truck is a 3rd gen it sounds like **** and is annoyingly loud
I ran it for 24 hours and put an AFE muffler on it and it was like I gained 25hp.
Now I am not saying that it was because of back pressure or what ever all I am saying is that I didnt notice a power loss when I went straight pipe but when I went back to a free flow muffler It was like I had a chip in it for low end power.
this isnt a myth as other have experienced it. There was also a guy on another forum that has dyno proof as well.
anyone that says it doesnt went straight pipe and hasnt gone back to a free flow muffler.
My opinion (from someone who has had more exhaust setups than any two diesel members on here) get a good free flow muffler like a silverline, magnaflow, MBRB or something along those lines. you'll see the same egts as a straight pipe and it will sound much better.
The aero trubine sounds good but I had better performance out of my AFE muffler.
Which is currently for sale.
