Default 7-pin trailer plug.

Does anyone know if the "hot" pin on their trailer plug is hot all the time or with the ignition? Mine is hot all the time which seems odd to me. I have owned a Ford and a GMC and the pin was hot only with iginition. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

it depends on which one you r testing... If u have a brake controller installed one pin will always be hot... I believe it to b the electronic brake feed... as for the charge wire it is on the key ....
