Auxiliary Leaf Spring

Can anyone tell me if I remove the auxiliary leaf spring on my '01 2wd will it soften the ride at all? I do not do any towing or hauling except in very rare instances. Or any other suggestions for a smoother ride?

Yeah it will. I can't promis it won't let the rear sag a little, even unloaded.
