Question dropped valve with bad head damage.????

hey guys, i have a early 04 dodge cummins 3500, i dropped a valve seat, to make this short the head is a boat anchor now!! what i wanted to know is if a 325 hp head would work on a 305 hp motor?? maybe with a little mod?? is that whay seperates the one engine from the other is the head? from what i have seen so far the 325hp head has better valves/seats and better air flow. will she work?? regards, matt

Same exact head.

The difference in the 305 and 325 is programming and slightly different cam profile.

Otherwise, it's identical.

where the seat bottoms out in the head is all broken out. so the seat would have nothing to back to. and at that, would have no support.

You won't bend a connecting rod on a valve strike in a Cummins.

The stock internals are so overly built it's rediculous.

The stock components in a Cummins don't have issues until you are up near the 1000 HP mark.

It's seriously retarded how stout the bottom end of these engines are.

The weakest link in the entire 5.9 long block is the valve springs. Switch those out and stud the heads and you are good for everything except a full on race engine.

I routinely push mine with 60 - 72 psi and it doesn't even break a sweat.
