Has anyone had trouble with their vacuume pump? I was down in Santa Monica at a gas station ideling in nuetral, when my power steering and brakes went out. called stealership $523.00 for a new power steering pump. I thought that was high, so I asked if that came with the vacuume pump also. He said no that the vacuume pump was $2000.00.
Anyway I bought a pump and high pressure hose from auto zone for $150.00 lifetime war.

Took off old power steering pump, felt in side the adapter that goes between the vacuume pump and power steering pump. And pulled out 2 teeth that sheered off of the vacuume pump.

Has anyone had to deal with prob? and does $2000.00 sound right for a vacuume pump?
