The pump turning on and then off is competely normal. That's the same thing the stock pump does, you just don't hear it. Mine sounds like a small lawnmower when it cycles.

Try this, turn the key on and wait for the FASS to stop spinning. Then bump the starter, but DO NOT actually start the truck. The pump should cycle for approx 20 seconds, then turn off. It's completely normal.

When are you looking for fuel pressure? Is it when the truck and pump is running or just when you turn the key on.

You won't see any fuel pressure if the pump is not on. As soon as the pump cycles off, it bleeds off the pressure in the line. Completely normal.

Also, where are you trying to get the fuel pressure reading from and what setup are you using to try and get it?

There is a fuel pressure port located on the side of the FASS. It's a 1/8 NPT fitting on the side that faces away from the frame. It comes from the factory with a 1/8 NPT pipe plug in it. This location works good if you are using an electric FP guage.

You can also get it from the test port on the VP44, which is prefered for the VP44 powered trucks. This location is good if you are using a mechanical gauge with a snubber.

Again, neither of these locations will show any pressure if the pump is not running.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If mine was just started and shut off, it won't cycle the pump.

Normally, it only spins for a short burst, maybe a half second. If you bump the starter, but don't start the engine, you'll hear the pump cycle for approx 20 seconds.

Is your FASS installed right now or are you still running on the stock pump?
